Lukashenko denies Belarus is connected to drones over Poland and Lithuania - 1

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the drones detected in recent weeks over the territory of Poland and Lithuania have no connection with Minsk. “Everything that flies over Poland and Lithuania - we have nothing to do with it“, the state agency BELTA quoted him as saying, News.bg reports.

On September 10, Polish authorities reported more than 20 drones in the sky over the country, which Warsaw identified as Russian. Some of them were shot down with the help of Polish aviation and NATO forces. On September 16, Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that a drone had been shot down over two government buildings in Warsaw, and two people, including a Belarusian citizen, had been detained.

In July, two drones that had flown in from the Belarusian border and resembled Russian military aircraft were also found in Lithuania. In response, Poland completely closed its border with Belarus, and Lithuania increased border security without imposing a complete closure of border crossings.
