The Supreme Court has allowed the Trump administration to freeze $4 billion in foreign aid funds appropriated by Congress.
„The majority's decision today suspends the court's decision to grant foreign aid. As a result, the funds will not be delivered to their intended recipients,“ said the decision of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan.
The request was filed by the Trump administration after an appeals court in Washington declined to rule in its favor on September 5.
According to the lower court's decision, the Trump administration had until September 30, the end of the current fiscal year, to spend at least $4 billion in foreign aid funds previously approved by Congress.
