The Moldovan authorities violated every possible international legal provision during the parliamentary elections, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told TASS.
.“We literally, regularly, daily recorded a colossal number of violations by the Chisinau regime and its foreign sponsors of Moldovan legislation, electoral norms that exist in Moldova itself, and every possible international legal provision for holding elections in democratic countries“, the diplomat noted, answering a question about the initial assessment of the elections in the country.
She also drew attention to the statement of the Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko on the parliamentary elections in Moldova, in which Matvienko noted that President Maia Sandu “on bayonets“ brought her party to 50% and received the “stigma of extreme illegitimacy“.
At the same time, Zakharova noted that Sandu, together with representatives of her regime, literally “destroyed freedom of choice, pluralism and freedom of speech in Moldova, which is one of the pillars of a democratic society, without which fair, normal and transparent elections are simply impossible“.
