On October 16, the French National Assembly will hold two no-confidence votes against the government, initiated by the ultra-right party “National Rally“ (RN) and the far-left “France Invincible“ (LFI), BFMTV reports, Focus reports.

At 9 a.m., MPs will consider the two projects aimed at the cabinet of Sébastien Le Corneille - prime minister appointed for the second time by President Emmanuel Macron. Just a day after announcing his new team, Le Corneille is already facing a serious political test.

The leader of the LFI parliamentary group, Mathilde Pannot, warned the new cabinet:
“A word of advice to newcomers: don't unpack your boxes too quickly. The vote is coming, and then Macron's resignation will follow.“

Marine Le Pen, the informal leader of the “National Rally“, also urged the president to dissolve the National Assembly as soon as possible, assuring that early elections would bring victory to her party.

To avoid the fall of the government, Sébastien Le Corneille will need to win the support of at least two-thirds of the socialist deputies. During his upcoming speech, he will try to convince parliament by offering compromises - including a possible freeze on pension reform.

On the eve of the vote, the French prime minister said that the main goal of the new government was “overcoming the political crisis“ that has rocked France in recent months.
