Russian oil imports from Indian refineries fall by 50% - 1

The United States and India have failed to conclude productive trade talks, and Indian refineries have already reduced imports of Russian oil by about 50%, a White House official told Reuters, BTA reports.

According to the agency, Indian officials point out that despite the reduction, it is not yet clearly reflected in official import data, although it is expected to appear in statistics for December and January. Refiners have already placed orders for November, which include some deliveries planned for December.

So far, the Indian government has not formally asked refiners to reduce imports from Russia.

The Indian Oil Ministry and refiners that buy Russian oil did not respond to Reuters requests for comment.
