Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the president for investments and economic cooperation with foreign countries, announced his intention to sue the American newspaper The Washington Post.

The reason is "the use of quotes wrongly attributed to him".

„We will file a lawsuit tomorrow. We gave them enough time to correct them, but they still haven't done so," Dmitriev wrote on his social media page.

As the head of the RDIF explained, the newspaper had previously corrected quotes incorrectly attributed to him, but a reporter from the publication had again distorted his quote in an article published on Monday.

“It's time to correct it again, apologize again, and finally learn their lesson“, he added.

On October 18, Dmitriev called on the American newspaper The Washington Post to apologize for a quote incorrectly attributed to him and to launch an internal investigation. In his article, the publication published the following quote from Dmitriev: “The result of Zelensky's tour in one sentence: Putin again outdid everyone“. This, according to Dmitriev, was an erroneous reprint from another Telegram channel.
