Turkish customs services seized a large amount of narcotics during operations at two border checkpoints - “Kapıkule“ and “Ipsala“, BTA reported, citing the Turkish Ministry of Trade, reports News.bg.
The total amount of drugs seized amounted to 525 kilograms, and its market value is estimated at around 6.5 million euros.
Two cargo trains were selected for a thorough inspection using the “risk analysis“ method. During the inspection, carried out with the help of detectors and specially trained dogs, customs officers discovered hidden caches in vehicles containing cannabinoid drugs.
The investigation into the case continues under the supervision of the prosecutors' offices in Edirne and Ipsala.
