US representatives will not attend the G20 summit in Johannesburg later this month, hosted by South Africa, Donald Trump announced on Truth Social.
Trump called the summit in South Africa "a disgrace", drawing attention to the human rights situation of white people. “No representative of the US government will go there while these human rights violations continue. "Looking forward to the 2026 G20 Summit in Miami, Florida," the US president tweeted on November 7.
In early September, Trump announced that he would skip the G20 summit scheduled for November 22-23 in South Africa. The US leader said that Vice President J.D. Vance would lead the US delegation to the summit.
During a face-to-face meeting in Washington in May, Trump clashed with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa over the protection of the rights of South Africa's white population, saying the issue must be resolved. Otherwise, the US president said, "this will be the end of the country" - that is, South Africa.
