US Army Chief of Staff Daniel Driscoll and Secretary of the Army Randy George arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit, Politico reported, citing its sources.
One of the goals of this visit is to negotiate a deal under which Kiev will supply Washington with drone technology. The US military plans to meet with the leadership of the Ukrainian armed forces, Ukrainian lawmakers and Volodymyr Zelensky.
The media notes that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegsett has never visited Ukraine. This makes Driscoll and George the highest-ranking Pentagon officials to visit Kiev under current US President Donald Trump, Politico reports.
