The United States expects Volodymyr Zelensky to sign Washington's proposed peace plan for the Ukrainian conflict by November 27, the Financial Times reports, citing Ukrainian officials.

„US officials expect Zelensky to sign the agreement „before Thanksgiving“ on Thursday next week to present the peace agreement in Moscow later this month and complete the process by early December,“ the article said.

According to the newspaper, it is extremely unlikely that the agreement will be signed by that date, as, according to an official in Zelensky's office, Kiev categorically disagrees with some points of the plan.

In addition, according to sources, the Ukrainian government is developing counterproposals for the American side.

On Wednesday, Axios reported that the United States is holding “secret consultations“ with Russia to develop a new peace plan consisting of 28 points divided into four categories: peace, guarantees for Ukraine, security in Europe, and future relations of the two countries with the United States.

A day earlier, White House press secretary Carolyn Levitt announced that US President Donald Trump had approved the document.

According to foreign media, it provides for:

- transfer of the entire territory of Donbas to Russia in exchange for security guarantees from the United States;
- freezing of most of the line of contact in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions;
- official recognition of Crimea and Donbas as Russian territories;
- reduction of US military aid and the size of the Ukrainian armed forces;
- ban on the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine;
- lack of weapons in Kiev capable of striking deep into Russia;
- establishment of the official status of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church and declaration of Russian as the state language;
- lifting of sanctions against Russia.

According to Reuters, Washington has made it clear to Volodymyr Zelensky that he must accept the plan.
