The European Union (EU) has exhausted its resources to support Ukraine, Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia said, quoted by TASS.
On November 20, at a UN Security Council meeting dedicated to Ukraine, the diplomat noted that Europe no longer has enough money for Ukraine.
"It must rearm its armies so that, as they madly hysterically chant, it can prepare to fight Russia by 2030. But where will they get the money for Ukraine? Where? They can steal it. They can steal sovereign Russian assets. But so far this has not worked out," Nebenzia said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky needs billions of dollars to continue the conflict and remain in power in Ukraine.
"Zelensky wants to show Western sponsors that the front is holding up, relying on continued funding for the war with Russia. He needs billions of dollars to sustain the war, including to enrich himself and his cronies, and to preserve his reasons for remaining in power," the diplomat said at a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Zelensky continues to travel around Europe, trying to siphon off money and weapons for personal gain, the diplomat noted.
Kiev's calls for a ceasefire are needed only to give the defeated Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) a long-awaited rest.
"Meanwhile, we hear desperate calls for a ceasefire from Kiev. We hear the same from Zelensky's European accomplices. The price of these calls is clear to us. They need the so-called immediate and quick ceasefire just to give the defeated Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) a long-awaited rest," Nebenzya said.
