The Netherlands will provide 250 million euros for NATO's PURL initiative (Priority Needs List for Ukraine), announced Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans, quoted by the BBC.
“Every day Ukraine is subjected to massive air strikes. The fastest way to help them is through supplies from US stocks. That is why today I am announcing an additional contribution of 250 million euros“, Brekelmans said during a meeting of EU defense ministers.
The PURL initiative, launched this summer, allows NATO countries to finance the purchase of weapons for Ukraine from the United States. The Netherlands was the first country to join, providing a package of 500 million euros in August. Later, the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, as well as Germany and Canada, joined the program.
