Documents in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein have revealed a rape allegation against US President Donald Trump, The Times reports.
The source of the accusation, mentioned in one of the files, is not specified, as names and other identifying information have been redacted.
The document quotes a limousine driver, also unnamed, describing a deeply disturbing conversation involving Trump. It took place in 1995, when the current president was traveling by car to the airport. During the conversation, Trump repeatedly mentioned the name “Jeffrey“ and mentioned “raping some girl“.
The file also mentions an unnamed woman who claims “he raped her“, referring to Trump, and that “Donald Trump raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein“.
The US Department of Justice released part of the Epstein case file on December 20. The archive contains 3,965 files, most of which are photographs. The total volume of data is 3 GB. The materials are divided into four groups. Some files are single images, others are multi-page documents.
Epstein was accused of arranging visits to his Manhattan home and private island for dozens of underage girls from 2002 to 2005. Investigators found that the youngest of the invitees was 14 years old. In August 2019, the financier committed suicide in his prison cell.
