Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a message to United States President Donald Trump that Washington will not succeed in destroying the Islamic Republic.
He made his statement at a time when a second round of nuclear talks between the two countries is taking place in Geneva.
"In one of his last speeches, the US president said that for 47 years, America has not succeeded in destroying the Islamic Republic. I tell you: you will not succeed either," Khamenei stressed.
"They (the US - editor's note) continue to claim that an aircraft carrier was sent to Iran. "The aircraft carrier is indeed a dangerous weapon, but a weapon capable of sending it to the bottom of the sea is even more dangerous," he added.
Amid the Ayatollah's bellicose words, a meeting is scheduled today between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The discussions in Geneva will be held with the mediation of Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi.
