The mobilization rate in Ukraine is lower than in Russia, but people go to the front prepared, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Sky News television.
“We mobilize 30-34 thousand people per month. In Russia, this indicator is 10 thousand more per month“, Zelensky said.
But in Ukraine “we necessarily train people“, unlike in Russia, Zelensky added. In Russia, recruits are immediately sent to the front, which creates a problem with trained personnel, he believes.
Despite the problem with replenishment, rotations at the front are necessary due to the moral and physical fatigue of servicemen, Zelensky admitted.
“I hope that now the situation will improve, because we have more drones, weapons and long-range means of destruction“, he said.
In December 2025, during the “Direct Line”, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in one year about 410,000 people had signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense.
