Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of the Basij paramilitary force, was killed in a US-Israeli airstrike on Sunday, Iranian state media reported, citing Reuters, BTA reported.
Earlier today, Israel announced that it had killed Soleimani, who had the rank of brigadier general, in an airstrike in Tehran.
The head of Iran's security forces, Ali Larijani, was also killed today.
Meanwhile, the Tasnim news agency, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported, citing Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, that a projectile fell in an area near the Bushehr nuclear power plant, but added that there was no evidence of damage.
The projectile fell in the vicinity of the headquarters at around 7:00 p.m. local time, the agency added.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed the information about the killing of Gholamreza Soleimani.
The Israeli army said today that it will find and neutralize Iran's new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, reported Agence France-Presse, BTA reported.
Khamenei has not appeared in public since his election as supreme leader more than a week ago.
"We do not hear Mojtaba Khamenei, we do not see him, but we can say one thing: we will continue to pursue anyone who is a threat to Israel, he will not go unpunished, we will search for him, find him and neutralize him," said Israeli army spokeswoman Effie Defrin.
