Sixteen people were killed in an Israeli strike on a school housing displaced Palestinians in Nuseirat, in the central part of the enclave, the health ministry in the government of the Palestinian Islamist movement "Hamas" announced today, as quoted by France Press and BTA.
The Ministry condemned the "heinous murder". The department also announced that 50 people were injured in the attack and taken to the "Al-Aqsa Martyrs" hospital.
AFP has reached out to the Israeli army for comment, but so far the military has not commented.
Earlier today, rescuers reported 10 dead, including three local journalists, in an airstrike on a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa, quoted by Reuters, reported at least 13 dead in an Israeli strike on a school in Nuseirat, which shelters displaced Palestinians. According to Reuters, the Israeli military said it was verifying the information.
According to the press service of the government of "Hamas" there were about 7,000 displaced Palestinians in the school.
