Russian President Vladimir Putin explained why even during the special military operation did not stop projects such as the construction of the museum-temple complex “New Chersonesus“ on the territory of Sevastopol, writes TASS.
According to him, it is about spiritual foundations, without which victory is impossible.
„We always, especially in this period of our development, of our history, need success, victory. And victory is impossible without a strong moral, spiritual foundation, and this foundation was created precisely by our history, by our traditions and pride. What our forefathers did to strengthen the Fatherland is today, in a sense, our weapon,”, Putin said in an interview for the documentary “New Chersonesus”.
The construction of the museum-temple complex "New Chersonesus" is carried out by order of the President of Russia. The head of state believes that the Tavric Chersonesus is one of the most important sources of Russian spirituality, pointing out that there “everything is intertwined: spiritual principles, state principles, and historical and cultural traditions”.
Today, July 28, the Day of the Baptism of Russia, the complex will be lit up behind closed doors, and from July 30 it will be open to visitors. Entrance to its territory will be free, but advance online registration is required. As Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimea Tikhon (Shevkunov) noted, the complex will be able to receive up to 50 thousand visitors per day. In one of the halls of the first museum of Christianity in Russia, a registry office will work.
