President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his daily address to his countrymen, that Russia should feel the consequences of the war, France Press reported, BTA reported.
„Russia brought the war to our country and should feel the effects of that,” Zelensky said. But, as in his address yesterday, he did not specifically mention the invasion of the Ukrainian military in Russia's Kursk region.
At the same time, the International Atomic Energy Agency stated that it is monitoring developments around the Kursk nuclear power plant and monitoring the situation, RIA reported.
President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier today praised the Ukrainian army for its ability to "surprise" and achieve results, but did not directly mention the situation in Russia's Kursk region, where Moscow says Kiev launched an attack across the border, Reuters reported.
Ukrainian armed forces so far appear to have adopted a strategy of strict silence regarding their actions in the Russian border region, the agency notes. "Everyone can see that the Ukrainian army knows how to surprise. And he knows how to achieve results," Zelensky said at an event to present a new digital application to reduce the paperwork burden for the armed forces.
"This is demonstrated on the battlefield, where our soldiers not only resist the overwhelming force of the occupiers, but also destroy them in the way necessary for the defense of Ukraine, our state and independence,", he added.
In another post on social media, "Ex" Zelensky stated that since the first day of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Ukraine has jointly used political, diplomatic and military efforts to obtain F-16 fighter jets, and now the first such aircraft are already in Ukrainian skies and there will be more, Ukrinform reported.
"Ukraine has been asking its partners to close the skies or provide aircraft since day one of a full-scale invasion of Russia. We knew it was achievable, that the world had the power to make it happen. To this end, we have combined political, diplomatic and military efforts. Gradually, step by step, we managed to achieve the result. F-16 jets are already in Ukrainian skies and there will be more," Zelensky wrote. Footage from a video shared by the president describes all the stages of work with international partners involved in the creation of the aviation coalition, as well as in the training of Ukrainian pilots and technical staff to work with F-16 aircraft.
