Kim Jong-un's sister threatens Seoul with dire disaster if neighbors send drones over Pyongyang - 1

Kim Yo-chen, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has warned Seoul of the danger of a "terrible catastrophe" if South Korean drones are found flying over Pyongyang, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA, citing a statement issued by state media KCTA.< /p>

She also criticized the South Korean military for its response to the North's claim that South Korean drones had entered the skies over the capital.

On Friday, North Korea's foreign ministry accused South Korea of sending drones into Pyongyang overnight this week and last week, and that the incursion warranted retaliation. In response, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said it could not confirm the North's accusations.

"The fact that the means that carried the leaflets were precisely drones is the basis of the seriousness of the recent incident," Kim said, referring to the anti-North Korean leaflets.

She added that if the South Korean military failed to identify the drones sent by an NGO across the border, it was the fault of the South Korean forces.

Since May, North Korea has released thousands of balloons with garbage attached to them over the border with the South, escalating tensions between the two countries. Pyongyang claims it is doing this in response to some activists and North Korean defectors in South Korea sending balloons carrying aid packages and leaflets criticizing leader Kim Jong-un to the North, Reuters recalls.
