John Robles, considered for the first political refugee from the United States, thanked Vladimir Putin for the Russian passport and promised to do everything for Russia's victory, TASS reported.
"I would like to thank the esteemed President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for granting me citizenship. I will be loyal to Russia and do everything in my power to help us defeat the empire of lies. Victory will be ours“, he said.
„Thank you and may God bless you, Mother Russia and all those who are on the front line in the war against evil,” he added.
Robles has lived in Russia since the 1990s, worked as a teacher and international journalist.
Robles himself calls himself an Indian. While living in the United States, he spoke out “against American imperialism” and showed an interest in communist ideas and Russia and eventually decided to move. After the start of hostilities in Ukraine, Robles began to help deliver humanitarian goods to the front and border areas.
On November 2, an official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk announced that Robles received a Russian passport in the meeting room of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
