The US and European countries equipped only 2 and a half brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU), although a year ago Kiev asked for 10, in such a situation it makes no sense to reduce the mobilization age. This was stated by Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the British television channel Sky News.
„They talk about mobilization. But the real problem is the ten brigades that our partners did not equip. "I asked them more than a year ago, I said that we should equip these brigades," Zelensky said. - We made these decisions with the US and European allies. But to date, Europe and the United States have equipped only two and a half brigades.”
„Some leaders in Europe ask me about mobilization, they say we need young people. And I say, "You want them to die without your guns?" - he added.
Earlier Reuters reported, citing an unnamed representative of the US administration, that Washington is advising Kiev to lower the mobilization age to 18. The representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Giorgi Tikhii admitted that this topic was discussed during the negotiations with the Western allies.
