Putin's voice: Joe Biden is doing everything to add more fuel to the war - 1

Kremlin said in Tuesday that the U.S. decision to send a new $725 million arms package to Ukraine shows that the outgoing Biden administration is determined to add fuel to the fire of the war in Ukraine to ensure the conflict continues, reports "Reuters".

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in a statement on Monday that the new aid would include Stinger missiles, munitions for High Mobility Artillery Missile Systems (HIMARS), as well as drones and anti-personnel mines.

Asked about the aid package, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters:

"The current administration is pursuing its goals, its consistent line is that this war should not be delayed.

"The Biden administration is doing everything it can to add fuel to the fire. At the same time, this and other aid packages cannot change the course of events, cannot affect the dynamics of the front lines."

The new U.S. aid marks a sharp increase in size since President Joe Biden's recent use of special presidential powers that allow the U.S. to draw on current weapons stockpiles to help allies in emergencies.

Biden has allocated about $4 billion to $5 billion under these special powers, already authorized by Congress, which he is expected to use on Ukraine before Republican President-elect Donald Trump takes office on January 20.
