In Russian strikes on populated areas in Ukraine's Zaporozhye region and in the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region, at least 12 people died, while more than 40 were injured, Reuters and DPA reported, quoted by BTA. referring to local authorities.
An attack on a car repair shop in the city of Zaporizhia destroyed the facility and killed 10 people, announced the chairman of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, adding that the injured were hospitalized. A local official specified that there were 24 injured, including two children.
Several settlements in the district had problems with power supply after the strikes, Fedorov added.
In Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a rocket attack on an administrative building killed two people. At least 19 others, including a child, were injured, emergency services said, adding that residential buildings were also damaged.
President Zelensky condemned the attacks on his profile on the social network "X", quoted by DPA. He also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of not being interested in negotiations.
„The thousands of such attacks carried out by Russia during the war make it clear that Putin does not want real peace – he wants the ability to threaten other countries in this way: with missiles, bombs and all other forms of violence. Only with force can we resist this. Only through force can a true peace be achieved”, the Ukrainian president declared.
Meanwhile, both Russian and Ukrainian military bloggers claim that Russian forces are advancing in the town of Kurakhovo and have also taken control of several villages north of it, DPA reported. The agency notes that, if the information is confirmed, it would mean that Ukrainian defenders are in a difficult situation.
