A powerful explosion at an explosives factory in the Turkish province of Balıkesir has killed at least 12 people and injured three, Focus reports.
According to Anadolu, the governor of the province, Ismail Ustaoğlu, said that the injured are in stable condition, but the number of people who were in the factory at the time of the incident is still being determined.
Causes of the explosion
The incident occurred in a certain part of the factory, but the exact cause of the explosion has not yet been established. Governor Ustaoğlu categorically ruled out the possibility of sabotage. It was also reported that part of the building collapsed as a result of the explosion.
Authorities' response
After the incident, emergency and firefighting teams were immediately dispatched to the scene of the explosion. They began actions to control the situation and ensure the safety of the area.
