Since the start of the Ukrainian surprise operation in the Kursk region, the Russian army has lost more than 38 thousand soldiers, UNIAN reported.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after a meeting of the headquarters. He recalled that yesterday it was exactly five months since the start of Kiev's operation in the Kursk region. Now Ukrainian fighters are maintaining a buffer zone there, actively destroying the military potential of the aggressor country.
“During the Kursk operation, the enemy has already lost more than 38 thousand of its soldiers - in this direction alone, of which about 15 thousand - irretrievably&rdquo, Zelensky said.
The president noted that the occupiers have deployed their own strong units in the region, and have also deployed soldiers from the DPRK there. Thanks to the operation, they cannot direct these forces against Sumy and Donetsk, Kharkiv or Zaporizhia regions.
“Thank you to all our soldiers who are bringing the war home to Russia and giving more security and more strength to Ukraine,“ Zelensky added.
