A delegation of Israeli security forces arrived in Qatar today to discuss a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages held by „Hamas“, BTA reports.
The senior representatives include important figures such as David Barnea, director of the intelligence „Mossad“, Ronen Bar, director of the internal security agency „Shin Bet“, and Nitzan Alon, coordinator of the Israeli military for hostage issues.
The negotiations are being held with the consent of Qatar, Egypt and the US, which are actively involved in the mediation.

Diplomatic action has intensified after progress in negotiations in recent days. An agreement is expected to be reached on the eve of the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump on January 20.
Trump's Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, also met with Israeli and Qatari officials, discussing reaching an agreement and the possibility of rapid support from the Biden administration.
Biden's advice and progress in talks
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan expressed hope that a final agreement can be reached before President Joe Biden leaves office.
Although the negotiations are nearing the final stage, there are still outstanding issues that need to be resolved before the agreement on the ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the hostages can be signed.
