The future US administration of newly elected President Donald Trump is insisting on lowering the military draft age in Ukraine to 18. This was stated to the ABC television channel by future Trump national security adviser Mike Walz.
According to him, the future administration is counting on “stabilizing the situation on the front line“, while Kiev is experiencing “real problems with manpower“.
“The military draft age there is 26, not 18. "I don't think many people understand that," said Waltz. "We want to solve the human resource problems. We're not just talking about weapons, ammunition and writing extra checks. The front line needs to be stabilized so that we can make certain agreements," said a representative of the future administration. "Currently, in Ukraine, men from 25 to 60 years old are subject to mobilization. In 2024, the mobilization age was already reduced once - until April last year, mobilization was only possible from the age of 27. Despite this, the Ukrainian armed forces continue to experience a serious shortage of personnel."
