Ukrainian Security Service SBU has detained a serviceman on charges that he helped Moscow attack Ukrainian troops fighting in Kursk Region in Russia by revealing their location, Reuters reported.
Ukrainian forces invaded Kursk Region last August in a swift offensive, retaliating against Russia after its 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Russia has since regained much of the territory it seized in the Ukrainian offensive on Kursk, but fighting there continues.
The SBU said it had detained a Ukrainian serviceman in the Sumy region, which borders Kursk.
"While at the front, the "mole" prepared coordinates for the aggressor's missile and bomb strikes on Ukrainian troops," the SBU reported.
The serviceman was recruited by the Russian military intelligence GRU via "Telegram", where he posted comments in support of Russia.
The GRU does not usually comment on SBU statements about recruited agents.
This morning, the Ukrainian army reported 18 clashes on the Kursk front over the previous day.
