The majority of Ukrainian servicemen participating in the fighting are people over 45 years old - there are practically no young people.
This was stated by the serviceman of the 110th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vitaly Melokost, who was captured in the Sumy region.
„There are no people younger than 45“, he said, answering a question about the age of servicemen from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Melokost noted that young people have also disappeared from the streets of Ukrainian cities. "Almost everyone was mobilized. Some fled, some are hiding," he added.
Earlier, the head of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff - First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Colonel General Sergei Rudskoy, said in an interview with the newspaper "Krasnaya Zvezda" that in 2024 alone, Ukraine lost 590 thousand servicemen - killed and wounded, and since the beginning of the special military operation - over 1 million.
