Entrepreneur Elon Musk is leaving the administration of US President Donald Trump, where he led the work of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), reported Associated Press, citing a White House spokesman.
The decision was made a day after Musk, in an interview with the television company CBS, criticized the bill to reduce government spending, proposed by the administration and supported by the House of Representatives of the US Congress. Reuters explained, citing an administration source, that "the process of Musk leaving the current administration will begin on Wednesday evening".
The entrepreneur himself published a post on X on Wednesday, in which he noted that "his time as a special civil servant is coming to an end". He expressed confidence that the role of DOGE in the work of the US government will only grow over time. On May 24, Musk said that he intended to focus more on his companies after a serious crash on his social network X.
In April, he announced that he would reduce his participation in DOGE, starting in May. This comes after Tesla reported a 71% drop in its net profit for the first quarter of 2025 compared to last year's result. Analysts attribute the decline in revenue to the damage caused to the company by the businessman's political activities.
