Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed a new prosecutor general, DPA reported, BTA reported.
A presidential decree published on the website of the presidency of Ukraine appoints Ruslan Kravchenko as the new prosecutor general. Born in 1990, Kravchenko is from eastern Ukraine and after the start of the war led an investigation into the mass murder committed by Russian forces in the town of Bucha near Kiev.
Kravchenko succeeds Andriy Kostin, whose removal was voted on by parliament last year after a scandal over the illegal granting of disability pensions to prosecutors. Oleksiy Khomenko has been acting prosecutor general since then.
Four prosecutors general have changed since Zelensky became president of Ukraine.
