An updated draft resolution on the escalation in the Middle East, developed by Russia, China and Pakistan and aimed at ensuring a sustainable ceasefire, was presented to the members of the UN Security Council.
This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.
„The great responsibility in this sense lies with the Security Council, which is obliged to take the necessary measures. This is precisely what the draft resolution of the Security Council, proposed by Russia together with its Chinese and Pakistani partners, is aimed at. "Today we have offered our colleagues on the council an updated version, taking into account developments, which is aimed at ensuring a sustainable ceasefire and monitoring its observance by the Security Council through the relevant reports of the Secretary-General," Nebenzia stressed.
Earlier, a source from the world organization said that Russia, China and Pakistan had prepared a draft resolution, which initially emphasizes that the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities violates international law. The document also calls for an immediate ceasefire by the parties to the Iran-Israel conflict.
