US President Donald Trump has accused Democrats of leaking preliminary US intelligence on the results of Washington's strikes on Iran to journalists and said they should be held accountable.
The White House has called for the person responsible for leaking US data on the strikes on Iran to be sentenced to prison.
“The Democrats leaked the details of the flawless airstrike on Iran's nuclear facilities. They should be held accountable“, the US president wrote on Truth Social. He did not specify which member of the opposition Democratic Party he was referring to.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said on June 25 that the employee who leaked the intelligence information to CNN should be sentenced to prison. According to her, “the FBI is conducting an investigation to determine who leaked it“.
The trade tariffs imposed by the US administration have brought the US economy about $88 billion in revenue.
The president said this while speaking at an event at the White House dedicated to his plans in the budget and tax spheres.
He said that congressional experts had told him that the United States was receiving “a lot more money than planned“. According to these data, the United States had “received $88 billion in tariffs“. Trump did not provide any details about those calculations.
The head of the White House National Economic Council, Kevin Hassett, said in late May that the United States “has received $50 billion to $60 billion in tariff revenue since the tariffs were imposed.”
The United States has signed a new trade deal with China and hopes to soon sign a similar deal with India, Trump said.
“We just signed with China. We have great deals coming up. We may have a deal with India. A very big one. We will open India to American business. In the deal with Beijing, we are starting to open China to American manufacturers,” the president said. He did not provide details.
“We will not make deals with everyone. "We will simply send letters to some, informing them that they will pay import duties of 25%, 35%, 45%," the head of the US administration emphasized.
