The collapse of NATO and the European Union due to changes in US policy may become one of the scenarios for the development of events. This was commented by Lieutenant General Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, in an interview, part of which was transmitted by Strana.ua, FOCUS reports.
Kirill Budanov commented on the forecast of Vladimir Putin's former aide Vladislav Surkov.
"Although I simply hate Mr. Surkov for everything he brought here, I am afraid that this is one of the possible options for the development of events if everything remains as it is now“, Budanov stated.
In the same interview, the head of the GRU indicated that it is realistic to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine in the coming months. He also stated that Russian troops "have the political goal of declaring their entry" into the Dnipropetrovsk region, tasked with creating a buffer zone up to 10 kilometers deep.
