Information disseminated by the Turkish publication Turkiye Gazetesi that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is about to visit Kiev at the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky was categorically denied by Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Nariman Celal. This was reported by the Ukrainian media outlet Ukrainska Pravda, News.bg reports.
According to the publication in the publication in question, Erdogan's visit was to take place in the coming days, with the agenda including topics such as the ratification of the free trade agreement between the two countries and Turkey's efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In a statement to Ukrainskaya Pravda, Ambassador Celal categorically denied having made such a claim:
“The publication, to put it mildly, distorted the information. Pay attention - they do not indicate a source, they do not quote anyone, they simply claim that I said something like that“, he said.
At the moment, there is no official confirmation from the Turkish presidency about President Erdogan's upcoming visit to Kiev.
