London police said on Saturday they had arrested 150 people at a protest in support of the banned Palestinian Action group in Britain, adding that more arrests were being made, Reuters reported, quoted by BNR.
Officers made the arrests after crowds waving placards expressing support for the group gathered in Parliament Square, the police said on "X".
Protesters, some of whom wore black and white Palestinian scarves, chanted "shame on you" and "hands off Gaza" while holding signs reading "I oppose genocide. I support "Palestinian Action", video taken by Reuters at the scene shows.
In July, British lawmakers banned "Palestinian Action" under anti-terrorism laws after some of its members stormed a Royal Air Force base and damaged aircraft in protest of Britain's support for Israel.
The ban means membership in the group is a crime, carrying a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison, Reuters noted.
