After the historic meeting at the White House! Azerbaijan and Armenia will no longer allow foreign armies along their co - 1

Azerbaijan and Armenia have agreed not to allow the deployment of military forces of third countries along their common border, the Azerbaijani news agency AZERTAC reported, quoted by BTA.

This agreement is described in the agreement on establishing peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, initiated by the foreign ministers of the two countries. The document emphasizes that the parties, pending the final determination and demarcation of their border, will implement mutually agreed security and confidence-building measures (including in the military field) in order to ensure stability and security in the border areas.

On August 8, 2025, in the presence of US President Donald Trump, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov presented the text of the agreement.

"The parties agree within one month after the entry into force of this agreement: to withdraw, reject or otherwise settle all interstate claims, complaints, objections and disputes that arose between them before its signing, regardless of the legal forum in which they were raised; not to bring new claims, complaints, objections or proceedings on these issues; not to participate in any way in similar actions initiated against the other party by a third party," it says.

"The parties will not undertake, encourage or participate in any way in any hostile actions against each other that contradict this agreement, in the diplomatic, informational and other fields, and will hold regular consultations to this end," the text also says.

As a result of a joint request by the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia to the Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), a step was taken towards the formal termination of the activities of the Minsk Group and its related structures, including the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on the conflict under consideration by the OSCE Minsk Conference, as well as the High-Level Planning Group.
