Delirious passenger tries to enter cockpit during flight

A passenger suffering from delirium tried to enter the cockpit of an easyJet flight from France to Portugal, forcing the plane to return to Lyon airport, police and the airline said, AFP reported, quoted by BNR.

The man was subdued by other passengers and then held until the plane landed.

The easyJet plane flying from Lyon to Porto had just taken off late on Friday when the incident occurred, the airline said.

Police said the man, a 26-year-old Portuguese national, had undergone medical tests which showed he was suffering from "air sickness and delirium". He was admitted to a French hospital.

After the man was detained, the flight continued towards Porto.
