Specialists restored the operation of the transformer and turbocogenerator No. 6 of the Kursk NPP, which made it possible to fully restore the power of the third power unit of the plant, which was damaged in a drone attack, the press service of the Kursk NPP reported, quoted by TASS, BTA reports.
"Today, August 31, at 02:20 a.m., the operation of the transformer and turbogenerator No. 6 was restored ahead of schedule - one week earlier than planned. The capacity of the third power unit has been restored to 100%", they announced on "Telegram" from the plant.
The radiation background at the plant's industrial site and the adjacent territory has not changed and corresponds to natural, natural values, the press service noted.
The Kursk nuclear power plant in western Russia reported this week that air defenses had shot down a drone that exploded near the plant, damaging an auxiliary transformer. As a result of the attack, the operating capacity of the nuclear power plant's third power unit was reduced by 50%, Reuters recalls.
