The parade units began their march on Tiananmen Square in Beijing after Central Military Commission Chairman Xi Jinping finished reviewing the troops.

The parade column was led by units representing the ground, naval and air forces of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Military aircraft soared into the sky over Beijing with flags depicting the number 80, symbolizing the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Military equipment lined up on Beijing's main street, Chang'anjie, is ready to move, and crews have taken up positions.

A large-scale military parade in Tiananmen Square marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and heads of state and government from 24 other countries are attending the event. Similar events have been held in the Chinese capital since 1949, when the republic was founded.

The event will involve over 10,000 people, as well as hundreds of aircraft and ground military equipment. Traditional and new branches of the armed forces will be presented, with a total of 45 units appearing on Tiananmen Square, including Chinese peacekeepers participating in international operations under the auspices of the UN.

The audience will see advanced missile technology, tanks, aircraft and unmanned systems made in China. The Chinese Air Force will display several types of new-generation aircraft, some of which are being shown to the public for the first time. The parade will feature 14 rows of musical bands, symbolizing the 14 years of war, including 80 trumpeters in the front rows, symbolizing the 80th anniversary of the victory.
