When it comes to power, money and politics, intelligent people are not allowed. Many intelligent people do not have political representation, they have no outlet in what we see in the National Assembly. Another Bulgaria is possible and we should not lose this hope.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio by journalist Yavor Dachkov, founder of the website "Voices".
The mass Bulgarian is not interested in politics, and Peevski rules the entire country, Dachkov commented on the show "Politically Incorrect".
"The president is already saying this. It is clear that Peevski is the real prime minister. Peevski has managed to build such a good network over the years - in the power structures, in the political parties, and he is the real prime minister, without him nothing can be done. Why did such a big political egomaniac like Borisov allow this to happen? Their relationships behind the scenes are the ones that keep Borisov dependent. We have a public authority that has nothing to do with the shady one behind."
Since May 9, when he announced a referendum on the euro, Rumen Radev has entered the pure populist line and started speaking as a future political leader, the journalist believes. In his words, "Radev is very strong at the moment and if there are early elections, he will win them because he is stealing the entire protest vote against Borisov and Peevski".
"He is playing for the long-term game after the presidential elections."
This government, which is now intolerable, will wear out even more in a year, but in local elections it is much more difficult for Radev to legitimize himself as a new player. A huge problem for the PP-DB is that they prefer Putin as their main opponent, Yavor Dachkov emphasized. It is unclear why they recognize a pro-Western person like Radev as pro-Russian, they hate him, he added.
"If they were smart, they would have built a bridge together with Radev, if it weren't for this fixation on Moscow."
"The whole country is falling apart because everyone relies on one person. We cannot live in a democratic regime. Someone needs to beat us over the head like a sergeant in order to get something done," the journalist pointed out.
"The mayors are currently terribly dependent on the budget and the state's decision on whom to go to depends on the state. Peevski is the state in this case. Blagomir Kotsev refused to join Peevski's camp. He failed to make the balance in Varna and the system threw him out. He was at the peak of his unpopularity before he was arrested," Dachkov pointed out.
"Blagomir Kotsev is in custody for education, including for Borisov. Borisov is afraid that tomorrow he could end up like Blagomir Kotsev. Not like the Change did - self-inflicted. Peevski can finish him off."
The power that sociologists give to Peevski is credible, the journalist said.
"Bulgarians know where the power is and they vote for the strong. Peevski is the brilliant exposer of the Bulgarian political system. He has seen all its corruption, all its weaknesses, used them and became its phenomenon, its leader. That's why he is unshakable."
In the period after the assassination attempt on Dogan, Peevski began to assume the operational leadership of the party. He used the generational change, inherited a corporate party and saved the empire by dethroning him, Yavor Dachkov explained.
According to him, despite "Magnitsky" Peevski is allowed to appear on the public stage, and this is "the model of America in South American countries, this is how the EU is also in charge".
"Peevski is behaving more and more like Trump. All the European ambassadors had coffee with him."
The journalist is pessimistic that Delyan Peevski's rise can be stopped democratically, unless there is a "major economic cataclysm or a global reversal of geopolitics".
"This European elite, which communicates very well with Peevski and Borisov, will stay. I don't see any institutional ways to change that."
"Velichye" and MECH were created to weaken "Vazrazhdane", Dachkov also said.
