Mihail Mikov: BSP has no useful move because it has 19 MPs. It had to choose the difficult path of opposition

For Mikov, the elections in Pazardzhik are not that important, "an attempt is being made to make them the occasion for some kind of shake-up in the governing coalition"

BSP has no useful move because it has 19 MPs. This risk should have been calculated as soon as the governing coalition entered office. It is no coincidence that Borisov legitimized the participation of the MRF-NN in the government as a possibility for a parliamentary majority, said Mihail Mikov, former leader of the BSP, former Minister of the Interior and Chairman of the 42nd National Assembly, in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

"I think this is the more honorable thing for both parties. The fact that it will provoke sentiments in the opposition is not important. The MRF-NN wants participation in the executive branch, because so far the talks about participation have been formal. Today, formalization of this partnership is being sought and I think it is moving forward. These conversations obviously took place, they are held before the letters are written," he analyzed the political picture in the program "12+3".

From Borisov's statement, he "understood that the BSP is afraid to show character", or rather the leadership of the Centennial:

"The things that are happening in the historic building of the Party House are not good at all. This is a contribution to the historical practice of the majority blocking the forum in order to solve intra-coalition problems, which would shift the burdens and influence in the executive branch and the leadership of the National Assembly."

For Mikov, the elections in Pazardzhik are not that important, "an attempt is being made to make them the occasion for some shake-up in the governing coalition":

"So far, the MRF-NN has participated as an informal partner and it is clear to everyone that without this support the National Assembly and government will not function. And this is an occasion for a shift in the governing coalition."

The Speaker of the 42nd National Assembly commented that Borisov's statement about "concession ministries" is an escape from responsibility. And at the heart of this GERB government, he notes and waits for elections in Pazardzhik to voice what happened, is an escape from responsibility.

"Everything goes to waste when such a recognition is made of a political force - the backbone of a coalition and government. What happens to the state's finances? We have no clarity on where the money will come from - the price of drones and the militarization of public finances? There is no answer to the question of vulnerable groups, of social security. All this obscures these problems, and there are alternatives. And the opposition is moving in the flat, "we see that there are no clean ones in this game of vote buying", Mihail Mikov also said.

He pointed out that the BSP has serious problems with political identification, "participation in a right-wing government deepens this problem, and the low voter turnout allows the hard core to show activity":

"The BSP is a small partner, but never a party that determines the future of Bulgaria - which party it was."

And he recalled:

"The BSP categorically should not have entered the coalition. If it wanted to seek its historical place, it had to choose the difficult and thorny path - opposition."
