We are already in a cycle of protests. The larger ones started on December 1, when the goals of the protest were clearly stated - against the model of governance, against the budget. Yesterday's protest was focused on the desire for a change in the election rules. This was stated by sociologist Elena Darieva in the program "The Day Begins" on BNT.
"This is very logical against the background of the development of the consultations that we are observing with the president. The requests of the representatives of the parliamentary groups are that a new governing formula cannot be found within the framework of this National Assembly. Elections are being called. Against this background, the issue of changing the election rules is on the agenda," added Darieva.

The new thing that happened after the young people from generation Z came out to the square is that they said: "We choose to live in Bulgaria, we are interested in how it will be governed". These young people were also present at last night's protest. The big question is whether these young people and this commitment that they demonstrated will grow into active actions and exercise their right to vote, Elena Darieva also pointed out.
What was the purpose of yesterday's protest, political scientist Assoc. Prof. Stoycho Stoychev also commented: "Those who were at the protest yesterday can tell you the purpose of the protest. I can hardly guess it".
Yesterday's protest was an attempt to embark on a positive path and to form a course or a course towards political leadership, so that it could acquire a form suitable for running in elections. A week ago, the protest was in a form that was not suitable for running in elections, since it had no face. Perhaps yesterday's protest was an attempt to show the faces behind which people can stand. On the front line, we saw the claim of the PP-DB to be the people who represent this protest energy, Stoychev noted.
In his words, January - February is not a good period for holding elections. "January is the first month in which we pay higher heating bills. This also falls after the holidays. According to a good Bulgarian tradition, we go into debt with loans, to friends. "Who wants to blame the parliamentary parties for the entire February elections, when people vote for extra-parliamentary alternatives because they consider everyone responsible for their financial difficulties," he further explained.
