The Bulgarian market is too small for the fashion industry.
This is what Evgenia Zhivkova, designer and creator of Fashion House "Women Style", a guest in the business section of the program "RadioTochka", told BNR.
"It is very difficult to develop such a business here, because there are few consumers, especially Chinese, Asian and Turkish goods in general, which flood our market at much lower prices. The cost of labor for sewing a garment in Bulgaria is much higher, and our productivity is super low," she explained.
The political situation also affects the fashion industry, Zivkova emphasized and added:
"We are also dependent on stability in the country. All problems affect business".
Evgenia Zhivkova stated that she has not been invited by "The Left!" or BSP for the upcoming parliamentary elections, nor for an MEP and prefers to watch politics from the sidelines.
"Surely my surname Zivkova helped me when I became an MP from the Coalition for Bulgaria. in 2001, I guess it also helped the coalition," she commented.
According to her, "the opportunity to communicate with the former head of state also contributed to the development as a politician of Boyko Borisov, who is a former bodyguard of Todor Zhivkov.
Most likely, the transition after 1989 was staged, believes Zhivkova and said:
"My grandfather (Todor Zhivkov - b.r.), when he resigned, said that he would be given the conditions for a normal life. As he did with his predecessors. But we all know what happened - he was arrested on January 18, 1990. And he was supposed to remain chairman of the State Council for some time, but that did not happen, as we know with the plenums that took place in November 1989.
