Sarafov: The FBI will train Bulgarian investigators

A series of training seminars will be held in Bulgaria

For the first time, an investigator from the National Investigative Service (NSI) will undergo a full training course at the FBI Academy in Quantico. This will be the first step, and in the future, Bulgarian investigators will be regularly sent to training in the USA.

This was announced by the prosecutor's office.

This was agreed by Borislav Sarafov during his visit to the USA at the invitation of the Department of Justice.

Furthermore, FBI Director Christopher Ray awarded Borislav Sarafov with an honorary diploma for personal contribution to the successful cooperation between the Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office and the FBI in the fight against cross-border organized crime.

During his meeting with the leadership of the FBI Academy, I.F. Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov has proposed that a series of training seminars be held in Bulgaria for Bulgarian magistrates and officials from the services with lecturers from the USA, the focus of which will be on cybercrimes and the collection of electronic evidence.

At the meeting, it was agreed that an attache will soon be sent to the FBI office in Sofia, whose remit will be specifically countering crimes on the Internet.

I.f. the attorney general has also discussed in the USA good practices in the work of the FBI, which would be useful in the reform of the NSLS and district investigative departments and their possible restructuring according to the model of the functioning of the federal service.
