Joining overland Schengen can generate BGN 1.3 billion annually. but this is still only a chimera. This account was announced by the Acting Minister of Economy.
"Some time ago we made a similar bill and called for a boycott of Austrian goods. Perhaps a sustainable governance would give more chances to both the Eurozone and Schengen and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which is the third membership we need to achieve. These three memberships can be achieved within a year and a half, if there is really such a priority around which to unite political forces and civil society.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, Vasil Velev, in the studio of "The Day ON AIR".
In his words, these memberships are the most important priorities of business and unions.
"We consistently insist that they be followed, but unfortunately the political class has not been at the height that the times require. It will be replaced very soon, because such a society cannot exist for a long time," Velev emphasized on Bulgaria ON AIR.
He noted that it is unlikely that Bulgaria will enter the Eurozone in mid-2025.
"It is very important how the next year's budget will be handled, because in addition to price stability, there is a risk that we will not meet another criteria - for an excessive deficit. At the moment, the implementation of the budget is not going well, there are less revenues than expected, and big expenses are ahead," Velev specified.
According to him, the priorities of the deputies are related to their survival, not to the improvement of the country.
"The greatest businessmen are the politicians. That's why they become politicians to do business - for the most part. But their business is different. It is not about creating added value, producing something, creativity. It is related to distribution and draining of resources and absorption of funds", commented the interlocutor.
