Unanimous with 201 votes “for“ the parliament adopted a decision obliging the government to take the necessary actions to secure funds from the budget to assist the victims of the fires, BTA reports.
The decision also states that the Council of Ministers must weekly inform the National Assembly (NA) about the actions taken.
The draft decision was submitted by Boyko Borisov and a group of people's representatives from GERB-SDS.
The MC is also obliged to submit to the National Assembly a report on the actions taken to absorb the funds allocated in February of this year. funds under operational program "Environment" in the amount of BGN 170 million for the purchase of fire-fighting equipment for the prevention of forest fires.
Official Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova informed the deputies that the Ministry of Finance (MOF) is currently developing a draft decision, which will be accompanied by a program detailing the procedure for how the funds will be provided.
According to her, there is a very well-functioning procedure, also known to the municipalities, according to which money is allocated by the interdepartmental commission for disasters and accidents, and therefore the same procedure will be used to make it easier. But it will be spelled out in detail so that mayors and people know what to do. We are also preparing letters to the mayors of all municipalities with instructions, the idea is to summarize the requests every week and provide them to the Ministry of Finance, which in turn will release the necessary money, the minister pointed out.
And Martin Dimitrov from “We continue the change-Democratic Bulgaria“ explained the mechanism for receiving compensation - people must submit applications to the relevant municipality, they will be summarized and provided to the Ministry of Finance. The National Assembly and the MoF have made a commitment that everyone will be compensated, i.e. everyone who suffered personal damage, their houses were damaged, to receive compensation under this mechanism, he pointed out. We should not miss the fact that in the cabinet “Denkov” BGN 170 million has been allocated for the purchase of new fire stations, and our commitment, as the National Assembly, is to follow these procedures to the end and ensure that modern equipment, equipment and fire stations are provided, Dimitrov also noted.
Ivan Ivanov from “BSP for Bulgaria“ appeals to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defense to make the necessary calculations for the purchase of such equipment as soon as possible, because it is clear that the available equipment of the Ministry of Defense cannot handle all fires.
The approach he has now is good – there is a consensus among the political forces in this direction, Ivanov also reported. We united around the interest of the people, independent MP Kaloyan Metodiev also reported.
