The fire rages on our border with Greece for the third week

Fire trap in Slavyanka mountain

The fire in Slavyanka mountain on the Bulgarian-Greek border continues to burn for the third week. That is where the efforts of all the teams will be directed today.

The eastern front is the most difficult to control because of the rugged terrain, which makes ground extinguishing extremely difficult. The fire has already reached 5 kilometers from the village of Goleshevo.

Although there is no danger to the settlement, an additional clearing is being made with a 50-ton tracked bulldozer as a preventive measure.

From the west, new outbreaks continue to enter from Greece, which further complicates the localization of the fire.

The situation in Senokos remains calm. The perimeter continues to be traversed and additional stripes are made.

There are still smoldering fires, but they are inland and are being worked on by firefighters, foresters and the military.
