After 4 years of chaos, Europe is relieved to accept that Bulgaria has a government. This was commented by MEP Andrey Kovachev to NOVA NEWS.

„Bulgaria was missing from the European and world political map. In 3 years we made 6-7 elections. Due to our internal political problems, we did not exist on the world and European stage”, said Kovachev.

„Under the PVU we must fix the mess and save as many percents of the unfinished, suspended infrastructure projects as possible, so that Bulgaria becomes attractive to Bulgarian and foreign investments, to guarantee jobs, prosperity and an increase in GDP. All these things are positive and are accepted by the different political formations in the European Parliament, as well as in the foreign member states, as something good”, said Kovachev. According to him, the leaders in the EU hope that Bulgaria will remain politically stable.

Kovachev also responded to Kiril Petkov's post on social networks.

„We first reached out to the PP-DB to form a government with them. They refused. They decided that they would be in opposition, saying that they would support the government on important issues. Now, on the one hand, I understand them that as the opposition they are looking for a calf under the yoke. After Evtim Kostadinov's mandate as chairman of the Committee on Dossiers has expired for so long, the National Assembly must finally appoint a new chairman. "I do not find the search for opportunities to shake up the government to be in line with the initial statement that they would support the country's European course," Kovachev commented.

He also answered the question of why Mariya Gabriel was not elected as vice-president of the EPP.

"She served several terms, she is highly regarded. Currently, we see that we have so many prime ministers, ministers elected as vice-presidents. This is democracy," Kovachev said.

He refused to comment on what the problem with the F-16 is because he does not know.

However, he did comment on the political situation in Germany. "The Scholz government was weak, Germany lost its role as the "motor" of Europe. Now the hopes are that the new government will restore Germany's strong position. Merz's speech in Valencia was greeted with a standing ovation by over 700 delegates, and was applauded for a long time because it was very promising. We all hope that Germany will once again be the "motor" of European development, commented Kovachev.
